Welcome to my homeland, Phoenix, Arizona. Also known as Valley of the Sun, where temperatures across the Sonoran Desert soar to 115+ degrees from June through Sept.
It seldom rains, never snows, has wicked dust storms, and our monsoon season brings devastating weather worthy of national news at least twice a year. In other words, it sucks here about four months of the year, but the other eight are PARADISE!
We own a small hobby farm is in the foothills of a 500 acre mountain range within the city limits. We’re hangin’ on to our piece of country as the city creeps in a little closer every year. In 2015 the last substantial acreage left in my neighborhood was directly across the street from our farm. One year later, our desert view was replaced with 42 single family homes.
The wildlife moved to the mountain range behind our property. So no matter how close the city is from the front door, the back door will always lead to our little piece of country.
