Planning a trip to Arizona? Then Sedona is certainly on your list of places to visit, it’s without a doubt one of the most beautiful locations in the state. If the stunning red rock isn’t enough to take your breath away, take your experience to Sedona one step further and visit The Chapel of the Holy Cross.
The Chapel of the Holy Cross is a Roman Catholic chapel built into the buttes of Sedona, Arizona, and is run by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix, as a part of St. John Vianney Parish in Sedona.
The chapel was built in 18 months at a cost of $300,000 US dollars, and completed in 1956. In 2007, Arizonans voted the Chapel to be one of the Seven Man-Made Wonders of Arizona.
It’s a stunning place to visit, but I must warn you, there’s a rather lengthy uphill walk to the chapel from the parking lot. Lace up your sneakers and just take your time.
