Relief from Anxiety Through Art Journaling

This video will show you how easy it can be to create an art journal with nothing but a composition book, acrylic paint, and a brush. Easy!

If you experience anxiety then you most likely know the importance of keeping the mind busy, especially when anxiety and negative thoughts become overwhelming. One of the best ways to chase away that unproductive mind chatter is through art. What? You have no talent? That’s okay, you can do this!

You don’t have to be an artist, I don’t consider myself an artist, but I certainly entertain the idea of at least trying. I dabble, sometimes it’s good, and often it’s throw away bad, but through it all, I must say I’ve learn new things that uncovered different talents I didn’t even know I had. 🙂

Willing to give art it a try? This video will help you get started, and hopefully inspire you to get in touch with your creative side…. yes, you have one!

I hope this motivates or inspires you in some way to help redirect those negative thoughts, turning them into something positive.… watch the video, you got this! 🙂

Supplies, What & Where to get what you Need

Acrylic Paint

Acrylic paint is available at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, or most any hobby or art supply store. Usually for under $1 a bottle (54 cents at Walmart!). Or, you can order from Amazon.

Brushes

I like chip brushes, they’re cheap and easy to clean with just soap & water. I’m not careful with them, because literally, they’re so inexpensive I just throw them away when they get worn out. Best place to buy them is ANYWHERE. Home Depot, Lowes, Harbor Freight, or Amazon if you prefer mail order. You only need a couple, I like the one inch best.

Composition Book

Best place without a doubt is shopping your Dollar Store first. I find them there almost always. Otherwise, Target, Walmart, Walgreens, and of course, Amazon.

Tip: You can use a glue stick to past two pages together if you want a thicker surface.

What’s Next?

I’ll post how to make a cool cover for your art journal, until then, one step at a time. Fun!
